How many hours of photo booth do you actually need?
A simple way to decide how long to book a photo booth for a wedding, party or company event, based on guest count and your timeline.
One of the first questions we hear is how long to book the booth. The honest answer is that it depends more on your timeline than on your guest count.
Start with when people are free
Guests use a photo booth when they have nothing else to do: cocktail hour, after dinner, between songs. They don't use it during dinner, toasts or the first dance. So look at your schedule and count the hours when guests are mingling or dancing.
Typical events
- Weddings: cocktail hour through the dancing usually adds up to about four hours. That's why most wedding packages are built around four.
- Birthday and holiday parties: three to four hours is usually right, since the whole party is mingling time.
- Company events: match the booth to the social part of the evening, not the presentations.
- Conferences and open houses: these are the cases for longer bookings, because foot traffic is spread across the day.
What about big guest lists?
A larger crowd makes the booth busier, not necessarily longer. With an attendant keeping things moving, a single booth handles a big wedding comfortably. If you want more variety, adding a second experience such as a 360 booth does more than adding hours.
When extra time is worth it
Book extra time if your reception runs long, if dancing starts late, or if you're expecting most guests to stay to the end. Extra hours with our photo booth are $50 each. Ask about the timing when you book rather than hoping the last hour stretches.
